According to 1850 Census in White County Indiana, William was a physician and his middle initial was either P or T
Nancy who shows up in 1860 as Nancy M I believe to the Mary E in 1850, as the birth dates match.

3. LEWIS F.2 BANES (WILLIAM1) was born 26 Jun 1848 in Indiana, and died 1924 in Mounds. He married MARGARET JANE WYMORE 27 Feb 1873 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of GEORGE WYMORE and SARAH HOLLINGSWORTH. She was born 01 Oct 1853 in Iowa, and died 02 Oct 1938 in Mounds.

This would all lead to believe that John and Louis are brothers. This was a transcribed record I found so the mistakes in the father and mother's birthplaces are common.

In 1860 L.F. Banes was living with his brother George and his wife Amanda, and his sister Nancy and brother John. His other brother Thomas lived next door with his wife M.J. and their daughters Eliza, Emaline, and Caroline.

In 1870 Lewis F. Banes was living in a house with Elizabeth Russell in Iowa, he was a teacher.

Found Lewis in the 1900 census in Oklahoma, at this point he states his parents are from England. His birth date changes in census records as well, anywhere from 1848 to 1852.

Notes for MARGARET JANE WYMORE:
Pictures of Margaret have been found and are included in my book. All pictures of Margaret on the back state her name to be Sarah. This may have been a nickname, all records recorded show her name as Margaret Jane. Lewis's brother John, did marry a Sarah.

He was born 1871, and died Bet. 1898 - 1900 in Payne county, OK. She married (2) FRANK EDGAR 05 Apr 1901 in Harper County, KS. He was born 07 Jun 1884 in Missouri, and died 07 Sep 1913 in Daisy, Atoka co. Oklahoma.

Notes for DORA DILIAH BANES:
Either 2 or 3 of Dora's brothers were killed by Indians when they were moving cross country. At night, some of the men would stand guard outside of the wagons. One morning when the brother's did not return and no one could find them, they went ahead without them. They were found scalped and hung a couple of days later.

thought on burial at this point is Dora may be buried without a stone in betwen husband Frank and son Merrel in Daisy cemetery aka Mountain Home.

Minnie was the child of Dora and an unknown Indian. After being kidnapped, Dora was found pregnant with Minnie.
According to early census records, Minnie was born in 1893 not 1904, Minnie is also found in census in 1910 with husband Fred Kilfoy, which prooves the birthyear of 1893
