He married ALMEDA JANE WASSON 30 Mar 1882 in Campbell co, TN, daughter of WILLIAM WASSON and CYNTHA HAYES. She was born 27 Dec 1863 in Kentucky, and died 21 Oct 1934 in Coweta, Wagoner co., Oklahoma.

Almeda is buried in an unmarked grave next to her husband James. The death date
was confirmed by the Shamrock Town Hall. The death certificates for James and
Almeda are being ordered now. We are also in the process of seeing if we can
get a marker put up for Almeda.

Service in Depew For Mrs. Gilreath
Woman Had Over 150 Descendents
Mrs. Cynthia Elizabeth Gilreath, a resident of Depew for 51 years, died Sunday in Bristow Memorial hospital.
She was born in Pineknot, Kentucky, August 11, 1883, and came to Depew from Coweta.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist church, Depew, of which Mrs. Gilreath was a member. The Reverend W. S. Grey officiated.
Survivors are three sons, James W. Gilreath of Neodasha, Kansas, Frank Gilreath of Buela Vista, California, and Carman C. Gilreath of Winfield, Kansas; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Stafford of Shamrock, Mrs. Ludie Barrett of Kendrick, Mrs. Julia Hammond of Augusta, Kansas, Mrs. Agnes Holland, of Agnew, California, Mrs. Opal Pappas of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Nadine Mayberry of Depew.
Also surviving was one sister, Mrs. Sue Upton of Tucson, Arizona; 54 grandchildren; 116 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery at Depew with Dunaway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Notes for THOMAS SYLVESTER GILREATH:
He was first married to Mintie (Drumille ?) J. Anderson in July 1896. They had
one daughter Annie. After the death of his first wife, Thomas left KY and traveled
to Wagoner county, OK where he married Cynthia Dickerson in 1902-03. I have
called and gone to Wagoner county, the marriage record at this point cannot
be found.

Gilreath Rites Held In Depew
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist church, Depew, for Thomas Sylvester Gilreath with the Reverend J. W. Browers officiating. Mr. Gilreath died last Thursday, March 4, after an extended illness.
He was born May 29, 1875, in Kentucky and came to Depew in 1911.
Survivors are his wife, Cynthia, of the home, three sons: James Gilreath, Iola, Kan.; Frank Gilreath, U.S. Navy, and Carman Gilreath, Oklahoma City; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Stafford, Shamrock; Mrs. Ludie Barrett, Kendrick,; Mrs. Julia Hammon, Kansas; Mrs. Agnes Holland, California; Mrs. Opal Pippins, Oregon, and Mrs. Nadine Mayberry, Depew, 54 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Depew Cemetery with Dunaway Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
