POORFARM CEMETERY

 

LOCATED OFF HWY 66 EAST OF BRISTOW AND WEST OF DEPEW. THIS CANVAS WAS DONE BY FINDING THE FEW HEADSTONES AVAILABLE AND BY SHANNA RUTLEDGE WHO WENT THROUGH THE OLD FUNERAL RECORDS.

THANKS TO SHANNA RUTLEDGE FOR SPENDING HOURS GOING THROUGH THE FUNERAL RECORDS, MIKE JONES WHO ALLOWED US TO CANVAS THE SOUTH SIDE, BRENDA MARTIN WHO HELPED WALK THE CEMETERY, AND MY SON AND HIS FRIEND WHO ALSO HELPED LOCATED HEADSTONES.

This is the South side, it has been cleared now except for the trees that hold the few headstones.

This is what is known as the Poorfarm cemetery on the North side of the road. Only a few actually have headstones.
